Galilee is the camp and retreat center of the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada. The Episcopal Church is an inclusive and welcoming community of diverse Christians in the United States and 17 other nations, all part of the global Anglican Communion. As a church, we strive to come closer to one another and to God as we serve the world and work for justice and peace.
At Galilee, we help children and adults alike grow in their service of and care for God’s people and creation. Wherever you are on your journey, when you come here you can count on finding gracious acceptance, spiritual and physical nurture, and renewal. It is a community where we can deepen our faith together and become better equipped to carry out our calling in the world.
In our summer camp community, campers and staff form an intentional Christian community where all are welcome regardless of their religious background. Together we gather for lively worship each morning, filled with song, playful drama, and meaningful discussions. In smaller groups, campers have the opportunity to delve into hard questions and think together about how they want to shape their lives. Campers explore spirituality through activities like reflective art projects, walking the labyrinth, outdoor adventures, and spending time with our chaplains.
St. John’s in the Wilderness Episcopal Church, which stands at the center of camp, and our rustic outdoor chapel are both available for groups to use. Guests are also always welcome to join in worship at St. John’s on Sunday mornings at 10am.
